Pure chromium is produced at PLANSEE under the name Ducropur as an unalloyed metal with a guaranteed purity of 99,96 %. Duropur has a melting point of approx. 1900 °C and a density of 7.19 g/cm3. The coefficient of thermal expansion between room temperature and 500 °C is at 8,6x10-6 [K-1].
Advantages of Cr:
- excellent corrosion resistance
- good hot gas corrosion resistance above 900 °C
- good corrosion resistance in contact with V2O5 and Na2SO4-containing slags
Typical areas of application of Ducropur:
- filter candles for the environmental technology
- targets for the sputtering technology
- components for the chemical apparatus engineering
- glass and ceramics production
