Materials used for evaporation sources such as boats, coils or crucibles must show a good electrical conductivity, must have a high melting point and a low evaporation pressure. PLANSEE offers evaporation coils made of various materials which cover a wide range of applications.

Materials:

• Tungsten VM (tungsten vacuum metallizing) are mainly used for the evaporation of aluminium
• Tungsten VMS: have a better corrosion resistance against aluminum
• Molybdenum
• Molybdenum 0,3% lanthan (ML) : do have multiple life-time for many applications
• Tantalum

Advantages:

• Long life-time owing to high and constant quality of the wire
• dimensional accuracy: easy to handle
• Constant stranding of wire: exactly defined evaporation of material

Based on our experience for many years we can also improve the efficiency of  your evaporation coils for example by modifying the design for better absorption of the evaporated material.
