Since several years PLANSEE develops and supplies so called metallic interconnectors made of a specifically designed Chromium-based alloy for the application in solide oxide fuel cells (SOFCs).

This Cr-based alloy (Ducrolloy Cr-5 Fe-1 Y2O3) has a unique combination of physical, chemical and mechanical properties making it a promising candidate for high-temperature SOFC application. Beside its excellent corrosion resistance one special feature is its thermal expansion compatibility with stabilised zirconia electrolytes being a basic prerequisite for the cyclic thermal loading resistance of the SOFC-stack. Based on the profound expertise gained in many R&D cooperations over the last years PLANSEE is a competent contact and development partner for technical challenges and a qualified component (interconnector) supplier for SOFC systems.
