Besides mandrels and mandrel shafts, mesh- and rod heaters PLANSEE produces also the heart of the quartz glass melting equipment - the melting crucibles. The melting crucibles consist of riveted or pressed/sintered (seamless) tubes made from molybdenum or tungsten or combination of each.
A die-plate is built to create the desired dimensions. The high melting point, the high heat conductivity and thermal stability are the special merits of the construction materials molybdenum and tungsten.
