Inert Gas Welding
TIG Welding
Tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding is one of the most important joining techniques used in fabrication processes for highly-alloyed steels and non-ferrous metals such as aluminium, copper, nickel, titanium and their alloys as well as refractory metals like tantalum, niobium or molybdenum. With low-alloy steels it is used mainly with thin sheets and for root welds.

TIG welding is one of the highest-quality welding techniques, demanding constant arc stability. This is strongly dependent on the electrodes employed and can only be achieved when these show consistent quality. |
PLANSEE supplies:
- TIG welding electrodes in qualities GOLDplus, WC20, WL10, W, WT20
Orbital TIG Welding
 |
Up to 80% of TIG welding processes are carried out manually. However in recent years an increasing tendency towards automated processes could be observed. PLANSEE orbital TIG welding electrodes are specially suited to applications in the construction of industrial plant, power stations and reactors. |
