Wires and Pins for Lighting Technology

Mo Redrawing Wire

For the coiling of W incandescent filaments Mo core wires are used as mandrels. Support wires are required for the fastening of the filament inside the lamp. PLANSEE supplies the respective molybdenum redrawing wires.

Advantages:

  • Good drawability down to very small diameters
  • High ring weights
  • No formation of coarse grain during stabilization annealing

Forms of delivery:

  • Wire with graphite-coated surface and stress relieving heat treatment on SD300K or K250 spools, with diameters from 0.4 to 3.2  mm; (standard Ø 1.0 and 2.6 mm)

ML Conducting Current and Lead-in Wires/Pins

MLNi combi pins

ML pins for lead-in are required for halogen lamps in hard glass technology. ML conducting pins, which are welded with the MY-ESS-ribbon, are applied for halogen and high-pressure discharge lamps made of quartz glass.

  Advantages:
  • High ductility after sealing
  • Crack free, electro-polished surface, crimped connections guarantees vacuum tight seals
  • Very good weldability
  • High recrystallization temperature
  • Good corrosion resistance

Versions:

  • Wire: electropolished surface diameters from 0.3 to 1 mm (standard dimensions ex stock via PLANSEE EXPRESS)
  • Pins: cut, scramped and/or bent according to customer drawings, or as welded ML/Ni or ML/steel combi pin
    Forms of delivery:
  • Finished parts: cleaned, annealed, ready to install or processing; packed in labelled heat sealed polythene bags with desiccant
  • Semi-finished products: wire on standard spools SD300K or SH253K
