Highest material purity for optimal coatings: sputtering targets for photovoltaics

Molybdenum and tungsten play an important role in photovoltaics. They have a key task here: as coating materials, they are decisive components for determining the performance of thin-film photovoltaics (CIGs and CdTe). Our materials are highly adhesive and resistant against corrosion and oxidation. Sputtered films made of our materials are not only highly reflective and extremely conductive but can also significantly increase the efficiency of solar cells.

At the same time, we are the only sputtering target manufacturer who covers the entire range from raw material to the finished planar- or rotary target – all production steps are carried out in-house. Our process chain starts with the reduction of ultrapure oxide to metal powder. This is the only way for us to guarantee the highest material purity and an optimal microstructure. An absolute must for a high degree of efficiency – producing uniform erosion rates and high sputtering speeds. We work together with all major system manufacturers and numerous research institutes to continually develop innovative materials and films. This gives us the optimal opportunities to sputter and characterize materials under real usage conditions.

With decades of experience in the manufacturing of high-quality coating materials for photovoltaics, you can count on us to be your reliable and sustainable partner. We only invest in Western mines to secure responsible and sustainable raw materials. We are also making continual investments in the latest, fully automatic systems to guarantee high production capacities and a reliable delivery capability.
