Plansee company headquarters in Reutte

Founded in Austria over a century ago, Reutte remains home to the global headquarters of Plansee High Performance Materials. A major part of the firm's manufacturing operations are also based here.

As an innovation partner, together with our customers we develop sustainable solutions for the high-tech world and continually push the boundaries of what is technologically feasible. Established in Reutte, Austria, in 1921, today we are a global enterprise with a workforce of roughly 3,500 people at 28 sites around the world.

    Everything from a single source – from the powder to the final product

    In Reutte, we cover the entire production chain, from producing the powder through to machining ready-to-install final products. As well as systems for the manufacture and processing of refractory metals, we also operate state-of-the-art coating systems and analytical equipment. Around 90% of the semifinished products that we process throughout the world at Plansee originate from Reutte.

    OxideMolymet (Chile) is the world's largest processor of molybdenum ore concentrates and our main supplier of molybdenum trioxide. The Plansee Group holds a 21.15% share in Molymet. Global Tungsten & Powders (USA) is a division of the Plansee Group and our main supplier of tungsten metal powder.

    From the high-performance material to the high-performance product

    Research and development play a key role at Plansee. Our materials experts specialize in improving materials and recombining the properties of individual materials. They continuously strive to increase the performance limits of our materials and perfect the interplay between material knowledge, technological expertise, and extensive application know-how. At the company headquarters, 150 materials scientists, engineers, and designers develop new material and product solutions for our customers.

    Our experienced experts simulate the behavior of materials in manufacturing and application processes, examine chemical and physical processes, and test our findings by means of concrete tests in collaboration with our customers.
