Plansee at Formnext 2024

From November 19 to 22, 2024, over 850 exhibitors came together at Formnext in Frankfurt am Main to discuss additive manufacturing. Together with Ceratizit, we took part in the trade fair for the first time. In hall 11.1 at booth F19, we offered a wide range of solutions for additive manufacturing with the refractory metals molybdenum and tungsten as well as carbide and tungsten heavy metal.

We were delighted with the large number of visitors to our booth and the many interesting discussions. A big thank you to all our customers who visited us at the trade fair.

About Formnext

Formnext—exhibitor solutions

The trade fair demonstrates how the process chain comes together—from an idea for a product through its production—by linking up additive and conventional processes and showcasing the next generation of solutions in intelligent industrial production. In addition to additive production systems, users from all relevant industries can discover technologies along the entire production chain at Formnext. These include not only innovative 3D printers for industrial applications, but also:

  • The materials most suitable for different applications
  • Automation solutions
  • Software that supports the design, planning, or production processes, and more
  • Technologies for postprocessing and quality control
Our core business

Highlights: 3D printing of refractory metals at Plansee

  • Components made of molybdenum, tungsten, and tungsten heavy metal
  • Parts made from a high-strength Mo alloy
  • 100% of the theoretical density with tungsten heavy metal --> same properties as a conventionally manufactured component

Plansee is one of the world's leading manufacturers of components made of molybdenum and tungsten. From electronics and coating technology to high-temperature furnaces, we draw on our portfolio of refractory metals,

alloys, and composites for any application beyond the limits of traditional metals. As an innovation partner, together with our customers we develop sustainable solutions for the high-tech world and keep pushing the boundaries of what is technologically feasible.

Founded in 1921 in Reutte, Austria, Plansee today is an international company with 12 production sites in the US, Europe, and Asia. We want to be the partner of choice for refractory metals in the future as well, so we continually invest in the training and further development of our team of over 3,000 employees, as well as in our production capacities and the latest technologies—from powder production and powder metallurgical processes through to custom processing and recycling of raw materials. Based on our combination of expertise in additive manufacturing and extensive range of materials, we can offer our customers innovative solutions that are both eco-friendly and deliver top performance.
