43 new faces: Apprentices welcoming event at Plansee and Ceratizit

The apprentices welcoming event provided the opportunity for the training team at Plansee and Ceratizit to greet 43 new apprentices – more than ever before. A good third of them are young women. This means that Plansee is currently training a total of 159 apprentices in six different professions. Twelve of these are external apprentices attending vocational school.

Head of HR, Stefan Fesl, was delighted that so many young people had decided to pursue an apprenticeship at Plansee and Ceratizit and assured the new apprentices that they would be receiving the best possible vocational training. Works council member Christoph Scheiber looked to music to illustrate the aspiration behind the Plansee apprenticeship program: "Every musician must first master the technique needed for their chosen instrument." But in a band as in a company, the key to success lies in being attuned to each other and working closely together. "Social skills form the foundation for this, so that people talk with and understand each other," he continued.

Plansee executive director Andreas Lackner and Ceratizit managing director Peter Fink honored 30 apprentices who had enjoyed considerable success at the Tyrolean apprentice competition as well as the 16 apprentices who passed their final apprenticeship examinations with distinctions. All 33 apprentices who took the final apprenticeship examination this year achieved their training goal.

With a wealth of photos and video clips, Head of Training Peter Frick gave a review of vocational training activities over the past year: The open day, the pizza stand at the Christmas market, where a total of 3,000 Euros was collected for good causes, the construction and dismantling of the large tent on the Reutte “business mile” and the construction of the "fitness mile". In addition, 80 apprentices who had come for a taster were supervised during the course of the year.
