Ceratizit acquires tool manufacturer in California

After the acquisition of Becker Diamantwerkzeuge (diamond tools), Ceratizit now takes over the US manufacturer Best Carbide. This is already the second takeover in 2017.

The agreement was signed last week. Both parties have agreed not to disclose any further details of the transaction.

The private company Best Carbide produces solid carbide tools and employs 90 employees at the company's headquarters in Rancho Dominguez, California.

Best Carbide is known for the high quality of the manufactured micro tools and ideally complements Ceratizit's portfolio. The carbide drills and carbide cutters are used, among others, in the aerospace industry, medical technology and mechanical engineering.

The goal of Ceratizit is to grow organically and through acquisitions in the market for solid carbide tools. Since 2012 Ceratizit has already taken over five companies in this product segment in the USA, Germany and India.
