Conflict-free tungsten procurement confirmed by EICC/GeSI.

Following an audit conducted in December 2013, the audit committee of the Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC) and the Global e-Sustainability Initiative (GeSI) has confirmed that Global Tungsten & Powders (GTP) – a division of the Plansee Group - does not process any tungsten sourced from conflict region. GTP is the world's first tungsten producer to receive this certificate.

Sustainability is a fixed purchasing policy commitment throughout the Plansee Group. That is why also the Group division Global Tungsten & Powders (GTP) ensures that it does not use any raw materials from socially, ethically or ecologically questionable sources.

GTP is not just a part of the Plansee Group but also the Group's main tungsten supplier. The fact that GTP only purchases tungsten raw materials from reliable and responsible sources and adheres to stringent procurement guidelines when selecting its suppliers has now been officially confirmed by EICC/GeSI. GTP is the first tungsten manufacturer with this certificate worldwide.

The audit conducted as part of the Conflict-Free Smelter Program (CFS), a joint undertaking promoted by the EICC and GeSI, is a voluntary obligation adopted by GTP. For Plansee's customers, the certificate provides independent proof that the Plansee Group procures its tungsten from reliable and responsible sources.
