EUMICON 2012: Visit our lectures.

We will be present when international experts focus on security of supply, resource efficiency and recycling.

Resource-efficient extraction, and sustainable, secure and affordable access to raw materials are pivotal issues – not just for the mineral resources sector but for the future of the European economy as a whole. The most influential event in this year’s international mineral resources conference calendar, the three-day EUMICON 2012, will examine these topics from a wide variety of perspectives.

At EUMICON 2012, we will take stock of the major challenges facing the mineral resources sector, and lay the groundwork for a sustainable European raw materials strategy and policy framework. The conference will provide an interface between business and scientific opinion.

An international line-up of high-calibre experts, politicians, academics and business leaders will be looking for answers to the central questions confronting the sector. Their conclusions will be distilled into a “Leoben Declaration”. The conference will focus on three main areas: security of supply; resource diplomacy; and resource efficiency and recycling. EUMICON 2012 continues the tradition of the Leoben Miners’ Days, held every 25 years at the internationally renowned University of Leoben.

The Plansee Group is sponsoring the EUMICON 2012 and is present with several lectures. Dr. mont. Wolfgang Köck, managing director of Plansee SE will talk about responsible sourcing, processing and recycling of tungsten as a contribution to a resource efficient and sustainable economy. In the career forum, Detlef Bartsch, Head of Group HR will provide an overview about career paths in the Plansee Group.
