Plansee invests in a new cold rolling mill: Thin and medium-thickness sheet is now even cheaper.

Plansee uses modern rolling mills to produce the world's largest molybdenum, tungsten, tantalum and niobium sheets. New investments mean that customers will immediately benefit from cost savings, which Plansee will also be passing on in their Web shop, Plansee Express.

Plansee operates the world's largest hot rolling mill for refractory metals. With a massive rolling force of 50,000 kilonewtons, this produces sheets up to 2000 mm wide and several meters long.
In order to produce larger sizes of thin and medium-thickness sheet as well and to ensure increased capacity, Plansee recently invested in an ultramodern cold rolling mill - the second largest single investment in the company's history. It is used to produce molybdenum sheet up to 1000 mm in width.

This increased capacity means that Plansee is able to manufacture large quantities and ever larger formats very quickly. The improved quality characteristics and the even greater availability of products represent important benefits for Plansee's customers. "But it is not only the quality of the product and the delivery time that our customers are looking at. The price is also extremely important," explains Andreas Feichtinger, who is responsible for sales and marketing. "And this is why we pass cost savings on to our customers."

Whether smooth or etched, for punching or in deep-drawing quality: A wide range of sheets is available with immediate effect and at new prices directly from the Plansee Web shop.

The Plansee sales organization is also happy to deal with inquiries for dimensions that are not available in the Web shop.

As well as sheet, Plansee also sells rods, wire and ribbon from molybdenum, tungsten, tantalum and niobium at There, you will also find TIG welding electrodes and spare parts for high-temperature furnaces.

Plansee materials withstand high temperatures, have a long service life and retain their shape even when exposed to frequent changes of temperature. As well as semi-finished products, Plansee develops and manufactures custom components from refractory metals.
