Plansee Tungsten Alloys: Best Master Thesis in Metallurgy

On November 21st a ceremony for awarding the Pierre Veyssiere Medal took place at the Material Science International Conference (Matériaux 2018) in Strasbourg.

Valentin Tannières, engineer in the Research and Development Department at Plansee Tungsten Alloys, was honoured with this award. His work dealt with the correlation of US inspection and defects on microstructure observed on Tungsten heavy alloys with high mechanical characteristics.

The Pierre Veyssiere Medal is awarded by the French Metallurgical and Material Science Society (SF2M) each year to an engineer which outstands on domain of metallurgy during Master's Degree Studies.
