HIP cylinders

Cylinders and components for hot isostatic pressing (HIP)

During hot isostatic pressing (HIP), sintering, joining, and compression take place under temperatures of up to approx. 1450°C and gas pressures of up to 200 MPa. The system components inside the pressure vessel must be large and heat-resistant. They must also be able to withstand rapid changes in temperature. This is where our components made of molybdenum, ML, or TZM are most suitable: heating assemblies, support cylinders, and insulation cylinders for HIP furnaces as well as components for gas supply and rapid cooling.

Your advantages at a glance:

  • Tailor-made multilayer designs

  • High strengths

  • Virtually gas-tight design

  • Excellent creep resistance

  • Long service life

Optimum material for high heat resistance

Molybdenum and tungsten are refractory metals and thus are very heat-resistant. Due to their special physical properties, molybdenum and tungsten are ideally suited as components for furnace construction.

When particular loads are required, we strengthen the microstructure of pure molybdenum with TZM – titanium and zirconium. TZM has better creep resistance, a higher recrystallization temperature, and higher heat resistance than pure molybdenum. A Mo-Ti solid solution and Ti-Zr carbides ensure optimal strengths at temperatures up to 1400°C.

Our materials

Whether remotely or on-site – we are here for you

Regardless of whether you need an entire hot zone or a spare part for your existing furnace, naturally we would be happy to install our products for you on-site. Our experts can also handle the inspection, maintenance, and optimization of your existing furnaces.

Remote service

Should repairs become necessary, that is a task that we would be happy to take care of for you on-site. If desired, our experts can also provide a remote service to support your needs. This can often quickly answer questions and resolve problems, significantly reducing downtimes.

Further products for high-temperature processes

Whether for annealing furnaces and soldering processes, coating systems, 3D printing sintering equipment, MIM furnaces, sintering furnaces, HIP processes or single crystal growing – our products made of molybdenum, tungsten, tantalum, and niobium can withstand the highest temperatures:
