H4 dipping caps.

H4 lamps for car headlamps have two filaments: one for full beam and one for dipped beam which is shielded by a molybdenum dipping cap. The dipping cap guides and limits the beam of light.

The point at which the light cast by car headlamps ends is closely regulated. The exact geometry and precise design of the dipping caps are therefore crucial.

And where absolute production precision is essential, Plansee has the answers: To meet our customers' requirements for zero defects, we produce H4 dipping caps of extremely high and reproducible quality. Before our dipping caps are dispatched to your premises, each one of them is subjected to a fully automatic inspection. Which is why our products are perfectly suited for your H4 production line.

Our molybdenum dipping caps reflect light particularly well. Molybdenum provides excellent thermal stability and is also ductile and easy to punch. The great purity of our material ensures optimum light yield - for the entire lifetime of the lamp.

To achieve a large effect with just a little material, we have developed particularly thin H4 dipping caps. These are only 0.12 mm thick. Despite this, our "slimline" products are just as weldable, robust and stable as conventional caps with a thickness of 0.14 mm.

We produce H4 molybdenum dipping caps in thicknesses of 0.1 to 0.14 mm and supply these cleaned and annealed. We pack our dipping caps in batches of 5 000 in airtight aluminum containers together with a desiccant to ensure dryness.
