The 50th International Conference on Metallurgical Coatings and Thin Films is being held in San Diego from May 19 to 24, 2024. The ICMCTF is the premier international conference in the field of thin film deposition, characterization, and advanced surface engineering. In the Grand Exhibit Hall on Stand 420 we will be showcasing our sputtering targets and arc cathodes for hard coating, which are characterized by the highest material purity, high density, and a fine-grained microstructure.

The International Conference on Metallurgical Coatings and Thin Films is where scientists from universities and industry research centers and manufacturers meet to share ideas and insights on thin film deposition and advanced surface technology. Conference program

The technical symposia at ICMCTF 2024 focus on processes, materials, characterization, modeling, and industrial applications. 

The key symposia topics for Plansee include:

  • Tribology and mechanics of coatings and surfaces
  • Surface engineering—Applied research and industrial applications

Sustainable surface engineering is the specific focus of the topical symposia at ICMCTF 2024. New approaches to the sustainable development of surface engineering will be presented in the form of coatings for batteries, hydrogen applications, solar thermal energy conversion, thermoelectric energy conversion, and (photo) electrocatalysis as well as circular strategies for surface engineering.
