Company headquarters in Reutte
Plansee has been producing strong products made of the high-performance materials molybdenum and tungsten for 100 years. Our materials make the engineered world easier, safer, and better to live in. Our mission is to pave the way for new high-tech applications for our customers with these materials. Since Plansee was founded in 1921, the Breitenwang/Reutte site has been the powerhouse of the international Plansee Group. Most of the production capacity and all central service areas are located here.

Production
Everything from a single source – from the powder to the final product
In Reutte, we cover the entire production chain, from producing the powder through to machining ready-to-install final products. As well as systems for the manufacture and processing of refractory metals, we also operate state-of-the-art coating systems and analytical equipment. Around 90% of the semifinished products that we process throughout the world at Plansee originate from Reutte.
OxideMolymet (Chile) is the world's largest processor of molybdenum ore concentrates and our main supplier of molybdenum trioxide. The Plansee Group holds a 21.15% share in Molymet. Global Tungsten & Powders (USA) is a division of the Plansee Group and our main supplier of tungsten metal powder.

Research and development play a key role at Plansee. Our materials experts specialize in improving materials and recombining the properties of individual materials. They continuously strive to increase the performance limits of our materials and perfect the interplay between material knowledge, technological expertise, and extensive application know-how. At the company headquarters, 150 materials scientists, engineers, and designers develop new material and product solutions for our customers.
Our experienced experts simulate the behavior of materials in manufacturing and application processes, examine chemical and physical processes, and test our findings by means of concrete tests in collaboration with our customers.
Plansee Seminar
Hosting powder metallurgy in Reutte
Every four years since 1952, the Plansee Group has been hosting the world's largest specialist conference for the powder metallurgical manufacture of high-performance materials – the Plansee Seminar.
Participants from 35 Nations
Around 500 researchers and users come along to hear the greatest minds in powder metallurgy present previously unpublished research results. The next Plansee Seminar will take place in 2022.
